Project Description
The Long Point Region Conservation Authority (LPRCA) has retained Aquafor Beech Limited to update floodplain mapping for Nanticoke Creek from Lake Erie in Haldimand County to Thompson Road near the town of Waterford in Norfolk County, a distance of approximately 46 kilometres. The purpose of this project is to update existing floodplain mapping to current technical and mapping standards. Accurate flood hazard mapping is essential to reduce risks to life and property, support flood and erosion response, mitigation planning, and inform land use planning and permitting decisions.
Public Information Centre
A drop-in public information centre will be held on May 28, 2026 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Townsend Lions Hall at 58 Forest Park Drive, Townsend Drive. The goals are:
