Welcome |
This popular conservation area is known locally as "Waterford Ponds". Enjoy camping, fishing, picnicking, boating and swimming at this picturesque park. Waterford North is a popular camping destination with 100 unserviced campsites – pitch a tent or park your trailer overnight, for a week or for the season. A small sandy beach and unsupervised swimming area make a day visit fun at Waterford. The park's idyllic natural setting makes it a good destination for all sizes of group and family picnics. There is plenty of parking, a covered picnic pavilion, lots of picnic tables and grassy fields that are perfect for games, races or just relaxing. The conservation area's three lakes offer some of the best fishing around. Take on the monster northern pike, largemouth bass and a variety of panfish lurking beneath the water's surface. Pickeral Lake, Willow Pond and Bass Lake, the three ponds located in the conservation area, are excellent examples of grave pit rehabilitation, with deep rocky bottoms and pronounced shorelines. Please note that Rainbow Lake, to the south of the conservation area, is closed to the public. An alcohol ban is in effect during the Victoria Day holiday weekend. |
