This 100 acre wetland supports Ohio's largest population of nesting common terns, which is an endangered species in the state. Various shorebirds, waterfowl and Bald Eagles are frequent at the site. The major emphasis is to provide safe nesting sites for the state endangered Common Tern. The area supports excellent nesting bird communities and good numbers of birdwatching and hiking.
