War of 1812 Re-enactment (Day 1)

Backus Heritage Village comes alive when hundreds of soldiers set up camp for this popular event. Historic merchants and period encampments are just steps away from the battlefield.  Main battle re-enactment takes place at 2:00 pm. Children can take part in mini militia on the parade field following the afternoon battle. Stop by the Backhouse Grist Mill to hear the story of the "Mill that Didn’t Burn in 1812 Norfolk County."  Sutlery, Encampment, Heritage Village and Backhouse Mill are open to tour 10 am until 4 pm.
