Celebrate Mother’s Day at Backus

Celebrate Mom on her special day with pancakes and a guided wildflower walk at Backus Heritage Conservation Area.

On Sunday May 11th the Backus Advisory Board is serving up a pancake breakfast as a fundraising event in support of campground improvements at Backus.  Breakfast will be served at the Conservation Education Centre from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at a cost of $3.00 per child and $5.00 for adults. Then take her on a stroll through the historical buildings or walk one of the many trails in Backus Woods.

In the afternoon join Colleen Dale, LPRCA’s Outdoor Educator, on a guided hike along the woodland trails. This popular spring walk starts at 2:00 pm from the Conservation Education Centre.  It’s a great opportunity to view the variety of spring wildflowers blooming and to learn some fascinating nature lore about these plants.  Admission to the Mother’s Day Wildflower Hike is only $2.00 per person.

Backus Heritage Conservation Area is located 2 kilometres north of Port Rowan.
