(216-881-8141) This 128 acre site includes a mile long natural sand beach with dunes. The park is primary intended for recreational use with a variety of day use activities. Adjacent to the site are the Headlands Dunes and Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserves. Headland Dunes is one of the last Lake Erie beach/dune communities in Ohio and contains such rare species as Sand-Dropseed, Canada Wild-rye, Wafer-Ash, and Wild Bean. Mentor Marsh is 644 acre marsh-swamp forest which is home to a variety of plant and animal life.
