Backus offers a memorable atmosphere for family reunions and other group picnics. Weddings and similar private events may be held in the 1859 Teeterville Baptist Church. A small rental fee includes entrance to the Backus Heritage Conservation Area for all authorized guests. Group camping facilities and fees are available for non-profit youth groups (i.e. persons 17 years and under).

Guided tours are available for schools, seniors and other groups by reservation only. Special activities may be arranged for youth groups. Contact the Backus Heritage Conservation Area administration office at least 2 weeks in advance.
