This site contains approximately 2,500 acres of marsh. Common emergent vegetation includes cattail, and bulrush. The area provides important habitat for migrating waterfowl and other marsh and water birds and marsh nesting habitat for a variety of birds. Herons and Egrets make extensive use of the area for feeding.
